Centennial Field
is the name of two sports facilities at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. One is used for baseball and the other is primarily used for soccer and lacrosse. The baseball field is also the home of the Vermont Lake Monsters minor league baseball team.
Located on the University of Vermont campus, the first baseball field was built on the site in 1904. It officially opened on April 17 1906 with UVM's victory over the University of Maine. It was part of the sports complex constructed as part of the UVM Centennial celebration. The current concrete and steel main grandstand was erected in 1922, to replace the original wooden bleachers which had burned in 1913. It seats 4,000 for baseball.
In addition to the baseball field, there is a soccer/lacrosse field next to it also called Centennial Field. The field was home to the University of Vermont football team until 1974. The school's soccer team has played there since 1975. This stadium seats 5,000.
