Purpose
Festival Concert Hall is a proscenium
theatre on the campus of
North Dakota State University. The Hall is the primary performance facility for the University and is used both for student and faculty performances, as well as events by outside groups. The Hall is noted for its excellent
acoustics, and is frequently used for recording as well as live performance.
Specifications
Seating
The Hall has 997 seats, containing both a main seating level and a balcony. Handicap-accessible seating is available.
Lighting
Main lighting is provided by three house catwalks and three stage catwalks. Three box booms are located both stage left and stage right for additional lighting. There are three stage electrics used for both supplementary lighting, as well as for overhead acoustical clouds for musical performances. Lighting is controlled by a computer ETC Horizon interface. The hall is equipped with a variety of lighting instruments, primarily Strand Century
ellipsoidals and ETC Source Four ellipsoidals.
Sound
The Hall is equipped with a 40-channel Mackie
mixing console,
equalizers,
limiters,
compressors,
reverb units, and various recording media. Eight wireless receivers are used for both handheld and lavalier pickups. The Hall is equipped with a variety of
microphones for varied uses.
Followspot
Festival Concert hall has in stock two professional
followspots, located in spot decks rear of house left and right, above the balcony level.
