The annual Kansas State Fair
is held in Hutchinson each September. The 2008 State Fair runs from September 5 through September 14.
The annual Kansas State Fair is held annually beginning the Friday following Labor Day and lasts for 10 days at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas.
The largest single event in the State, the Fair annually attracts approximately 350,000 people from all 105 Kansas counties and several other states.
The Fair offers tremendous opportunities for commerce with over 1,000 commercial exhibit locations; for competition, with over 30,000 entries in various competitive exhibit departments; for education, through its Kansas' Largest Classroom field trip program; and for entertainment with strolling and stage entertainment in addition to the national acts performing at the Grandstand.
In addition to the annual State Fair, the Fairgrounds' facilities are utilized throughout the year for a wide array of events, including horse and livestock shows, trade shows, flea markets, wedding receptions, family reunions, and company picnics, to name just a few.
