Marinelli Field
is a stadium in Rockford, Illinois located in Blackhawk Park and is overseen by the Rockford Park District. It is primarily used for baseball, and was the home field of the Rockford RiverHawks independent minor league baseball team until they moved to the new Road Ranger Stadium in Loves Park in the spring of 2006. It also served as home of other minor league teams, the Rockford Expos, a farm team of the Montreal Expos, The Rockford Royals, a farm team of the Kansas City Royals, the Rockford Cubbies, a farm team of the Chicago Cubs and the Rockford Reds, a farm team of the Cincinnati Reds.
It opened in 1988 and holds 4,000 people. Current plans are to use the field for tournaments, other baseball games and special events.
