The OFS Studio
(formerly the Old Fire Station Theatre) is a theatre in Oxford, England at 40 George Street.
One of the smaller studio theatres in the city, it was refurbished in the early 1990s under the supervision of producer Cameron Mackintosh. It opened with Moby Dick
, the success of which prompted Mackintosh to mount an ill-fated full-fledged West End production.
About twenty student shows are performed there per year, with the rest of the weeks being filled by a mixture of professional, semi-pro, and community theatre. Past productions include two Stephen Sondheim works, the revue Putting It Together
with Diana Rigg and Assassins
, Kiss of the Spider Woman
, Entertaining Mr. Sloane
, What the Butler Saw
, and various Shakespeare plays, including Macbeth
and Twelfth Night
.
