Pragelato
is a comune
(municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 60 km west of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 536 and an area of 89.6 km². [1]
The municipality of Pragelato contains the frazioni
(subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) La Ruà, Allevè, Chezal, Duc, Grand Puy, Granges, Jousseaud, Laval, Pattemouche, Plan, Rif, Rivets, Seytes, Troncea, Souchéres Basses, Souchère Haute, Traverses, Villardamond, Val Tronche, and Tronchée.
Pragelato borders the following municipalities: Exilles, Oulx, Salbertrand, Usseaux, Fenestrelle, Sauze d'Oulx, Massello, Sestriere, Sauze di Cesana, Salza di Pinerolo, Prali.
Pragelato was the site of the Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping, and the Nordic Combined events of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games.
