Rimrock Auto Arena (Formerly Metrapark Arena) Wiki Information
| Rimrock Auto Arena
is a 12,000 seat multi-purpose arena in Billings, Montana, USA. The arena was completed in 1975 and named Yellowstone METRA. The acronym stood for Montana's Entertainment, Trade and Recreation Arena. A great deal of controversy surrounded the facility when it was built, with many in the community seeing it as a burden. (Indeed, some people still view it as such today.) Later the entire fairgrounds surrounding the arena was named MetraPark, and the arena became MetraPark Arena. It is owned by the city of Billings, Montana and Yellowstone County. In 2005, MetraPark Arena marked its 30th anniversary. The arena hosts a variety of local sporting, musical, and other events. It has also hosted professional sporting competitions.
