The Walter Kerr Theatre
is a Broadway theatre. It is located at 218 West 48th Street and it is part of the Jujamcyn Amusement Corporation.
The Walter Kerr Theatre was built in 1921 as the Ritz Theatre by the Shuberts in a record 60 days. It seats 975, and is located at 219 W. 48th Street. Though it has had many uses since its construction, it was converted back to legitimate theatre in 1989. In 1990, it was named after theatre critic Walter Kerr, and since then, it has housed six winners of the Tony Award for Best Play: Doubt

On June 19, 2008, the producers of the musical issued a press release announcing the show will close on July 29, 2008, having played 27 previews and 116 regular performances.
In October, 2008, a revival of the Anton Chekhov play The Seagull
will open.
