Wiener Stadthalle
is an indoor arena located in the 15th district of Vienna, Austria. It was designed by Austrian architect Roland Rainer, and built betwenn 1953 and 1958. The arena has an overall seating capacity of approximately 16,000.
The Wiener Stadthalle comprises 6 halls: A, B, C (ice arena), D (main hall, mostly for concerts), E (for smaller events), F (for more intimate concerts). In 1974 the additional Stadthallenbad was built.
The arena has hosted some of the biggest names in the business, among them Take That, Beyoncé, ABBA, The Rolling Stones,Shania Twain, Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, David Bowie, Falco, Cher, Nat King Cole, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Frank Sinatra, Janet Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Shakira, Christina Aguilera,Il Divo, Ennio Morricone, Woody Allen, Spice Girls, Patricia Kaas, and Céline Dion.
The Wiener Stadthalle is the venue for the annual tennis tournament Bank Austria-TennisTrophy.
