He currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon under the name All Smiles

Biography
Fairchild moved to
Modesto, California at the age of 2, where he lived and played
guitar in the band
Grandaddy until their breakup in 2006
[1]. He lived briefly in
Los Angeles and
Portland, Oregon where he began to work under the name All Smiles, and played one tour, as the guitarist in
Modest Mouse. In 2006 he moved to Chicago, and in 2007 released his first
solo album,
Ten Readings of a Warning
, and
seven inch as All Smiles. That record, and all material put out by All Smiles are carbon neutral
[2]. Band members on the album include
Janet Weiss (
Sleater Kinney,
Quasi), Joe Plummer (
Modest Mouse,
Black Heart Procession, Magic Magicians), Danny Seim (
lackthereof,
Menomena) , and Solon Bixler (
Great Northern).
The
album art for
Ten Readings of a Warning
and "Moth in a Cloud of Smoke" seven inch were done by artist
Natasha Wheat.
Fairchild, along with Solon Bixler, Nik Freitas, Joe Plummer and Mike Cresswell, released the second All Smiles album, entitled
Oh For the Getting and Not Letting Go
, on June 30, 2009.
