Baddies
are an indie rock band from Southend, Essex, who released their debut single Battleships
in October 2008. Identical twins Michael and Jim Webster are joined in Baddies by Danny Rowton and Simon Bellamy. It has been said that they make "hi-octane alt-pop that recalls the likes of Klaxons and Queens Of The Stone Age." [1] On June 3, 2009, they revealed on their official Twitter account that their debut album would be titled Do the Job

Origins
Baddies, formed in April 2007
[3] and have gained a reputation as "one of the most exciting new bands around"
and have been put on par with other rising acts from Southend such as
the Horrors,
These New Puritans,
Scroobius Pip and
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.
Critical Acclaim
On top of the
Guardian praise they have received a large amount of support from
BBC Introducing who included them on their BBC Introducing stage at
One Big Weekend as tipped by
BBC Essex Introducing
[4]. They are set to support other BBC Introducing acts such as Marina & the Diamonds, Temper Trap, Little Commets & Master Shortie
[5]. In May 2009 BBC Essex Introducing further backed the act in the form of a live session

Glastonbury festival announced that they would be playing on the
John Peel stage
[7].
Do the Job
Baddies announced in an interview with BBC Essex Introducing that they are currently recording their debut album,
Do the Job
, which is due for release in September 2009, with the possibility of a free download prior to release.
