Charlie Winston
is an English singer-songwriter, and the brother of singer Tom Baxter. Born in Cornwall in 1978, he grew up in Bungay, Suffolk where his parents owned the King's Head Hotel. [1]

Charlie Winston and the Oxymorons

Charlie Winston
is the band to which Winston lends his name. Members include Winston,
harmonicist Ben Edwards and
bass guitarist
Elf Lord Taylor. In 2007 Charlie Winston toured with
Peter Gabriel.

His debut album titled
Make Way
was described as "inspired and seductive".
[3] They are perhaps most notable for their cover of
the Spencer Davis Group's song
I'm a Man, which appeared on a
television advertisement for the
Volkswagen Polo in 2008. The advert, which featured a dog miming the words, was banned after complaints from the
RSPCA and over 750 viewers.

His first album
Hobo
was a success in France and the first single "
Like a Hobo" topped the French SNEP charts for one week on 11 April 2009.
[6] [7] The album entered the chart at No. 3 on 31 January 2009, peaked at No. 2 the following week and s of

Personal life
Winston was born in Cornwall in 1978, to parents Jeff and Julie Gleave.

Bungay,
Suffolk where his parents owned the King's Head Hotel.
His older brother,
Tom Baxter,
[11] and younger sister,
Vashti Anna, are also musicians and all use their middle name as a stage surname.
