Disco Fever Wiki Information
Disco Fever
was a New York City dance club located in the South Bronx. Owner Ally Abbatiello opened it in 1976 as an adult disco. In the summer of 1977, Ally's son Sal convinced him to hand over the reins. Sal quickly switched gears by hiring the now legendary disc jockey Grandmaster Flash intending to draw energetic young Hip hop patrons.

History
According to Sal, "We had been lookin’ for a name for about 3 months, and we were sitting down watchin’ tv and my mom saw an advertisement for Saturday Night Disco Fever ; and she says why don’t you name it Disco Fever – we said, 'nah, get outta here.' The next day we got up sayin' Disco Fever sounds pretty hot. So we got it from my mom, she named it."
