Fattburger Wiki Information
Fattburger is a jazz group, best categorized in the funk, smooth jazz, jazz fusion, or adult contemporary subgenres. The band was formed by saxophonist Hollis Gentry, keyboardist Carl Evans Jr., bassist Mark Hunter, drummer Kevin Koch, and guitarist Steve Laury in San Diego during the early 1980s. [1] Tommy Aros soon joined as a percussionist, and when Steve Laury embarked on a solo career, guitarist Evan Marks was added to the ensemble. Fattburger's distinctively melodious smooth jazz style, blending funk, blues, pop, and Latin influences, generated more mellifluous jazz-funk tunes than perhaps any other American band during the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. The premature death of Carl Evans, Jr., on April 10, 2008, [2] may reduce the combo's prolificity.
Fattburger's most commercially successful CDs were Sizzlin' and T.G.I.F.attburger!, but the best representations of their smooth jazz-funk style were arguably five earlier albums: On a Roll, Good News, Living in Paradise, Come and Get It, and Time Will Tell.
