Francisco Aguabella
(born August 28, 1925) is an Afro-Cuban jazz conga player, well-known on the jazz scene since the 1950s. He was born in Matanzas, Cuba.
Aguabella played percussion on the The Doors' 1971 album Other Voices
and Paul Simon's 1990 album The Rhythm of the Saints
.
In 1992 he won a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. He lived in Los Angeles, California where he taught Afro-Cuban drumming to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of California, Los Angeles.
