Band history
The band got started in 2002, when the three original members reformed their old punk band (then known as
No Tagbacks) and changed their name to House of Heroes. The name change is said to be a reflection of the band having a fresh start with new music and a new perspective. They released their debut album,
What You Want Is Now
in 2003.

House of Heroes
In 2005,
tobyMac signed the band to
Gotee Records, and shortly afterward their self-titled album
House of Heroes
was released. During the same year, the group toured with several other bands such as
Relient K,
Rufio, and
MxPx.
Jared Rigsby, drummer Colin Rigsby's brother, replaced A.J. Babcock as the band's live bassist in December 2005, as Babcock was tired of touring. Prior to joining the band, Rigsby was a sophomore BFA acting major at
Otterbein College in Westerville, OH before dropping out of school at the end of the fall 2006 quarter. Babcock is still their primary lyricist, and continues to write songs and play bass with the band.
Say No More
The band's next album,
Say No More
, was released on May 2, 2006. It was a re-release of their self-titled debut album, and includes two bonus tracks ("The Invisible Hook," and "You Are the Judas of the Cheerleading Squad").
[3]
The band experienced some member changes around 2007, and their current lineup returned to four members: Tim Skipper (
lead vocals,
guitar), Colin Rigsby (
drums,
backing vocals), Jared Rigsby (guitar, backing vocals), and
A.J. Babcock (
bass guitar).
The End Is Not the End
In 2008, before the release of their next album, the band launched , a website where "In the Valley of the Dying Sun", "Sooner or Later", and "By Your Side" were offered as free downloads.
The End Is Not the End
was subsequently released on September 23, 2008.
