Janita Maria Ervi (née Raukko ; [1] born 28 December 1978), [2] better known as Janita , is a Finnish smooth jazz, soul, and R&B singer–songwriter. Born in Helsinki, she started her career in Finland and later moved to Brooklyn. Janita has released five albums in her native Finland—one of which, 2001's Tunteita , was released in English to the U.S. market. Her latest album, Seasons of Life , was released in the United States on 16 May 2006 and in Japan on 21 September 2006. According to her official website, Janita is to release a new album in autumn 2009. [3] The new album is set to be released in Finland 9.9.2009 and it's called "Haunted".
