Music career
Album
Though signed to Aftermath, Ortiz released an album titled The Brick (Bodega Chronicles)
April 24 2007 on Koch Records. [1] The Brick
features production by Showbiz and The Alchemist, among others. Guest artists include rappers Big Daddy Kane, Styles P, Big Noyd, Akon, Immortal Technique, Grafh, and Ras Kass. [2] [3]
Departure from Aftermath and Slaughterhouse
Ortiz parted ways with Aftermath Records on April 15, 2008. [4]
Joell Ortiz has joined another team of rappers; Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9", and Crooked I in a Hip-hop supergroup under the name Slaughterhouse. Joell Ortiz is rumored to make an appearance on Royce Da 5'9"s album Street Hop
alongside the other members of Slaughterhouse. [5]
A remix of Joell Ortiz' "Hiphop" featuring Jadakiss and Saigon appeared on a fictive urban radio station in the popular videogame "GTA IV". It is rumored he will collaborating with LA artist Fewed The Sickoe.
