The Killerpilze (English/German for "Killer Mushrooms") is a German pop punk band from Dillingen a.d. Donau, Germany. With their self-written rock songs, the band secured a faithful fan base in their homeland first. In the Spring of 2006, their debut single "Richtig Scheiße" ("Really Shitty") reached #17 in Germany. From their first huge success in the national charts, Killerpilze have taken the world by storm, playing gigs in France, Poland, Czech Republic, as well as Austria and Germany. Recently the band has also scheduled a show in Russia, alongside another German band called "Panik".

Members

Johannes "Jo" Halbig plays rhythm guitar, piano and sings.

Fabian "Fabi" Halbig is the drummer.

Maximilian "Mäx" Schlichter has played lead guitar and sung backing vocals since 2002.

Andreas "Schlagi" Schlagenhaft was the former bassist of the band.

Johannes Halbig

Johannes Halbig, (better known as Jo or Killerpilz) was born on the 30th of July 1989. He has just completed his last year at 'St. Bonaventura Gymnasium' in Dillingen an der Donau, where he resides with his parents and his younger brother Fabian. Jo is able to play a range of instruments, including piano, guitar, and bass guitar.

Fabian Halbig

Fabian Halbig, (also known as Fabi) was born on the 23rd of December 1992. He is the youngest member of the band. He is able to play trumpet, and has done so since the age of 8.

Maximilian Schlichter

Maximilian Schlichter, (known as Mäx) was born on the 3rd of July 1988. Mäx is the oldest in the band.

The Killerpilze Story

• In the early years, Killerpilze sang in both English and German, and toured their local area mainly Chilli. After meeting the boss from Universal Records, the rest was history for the teenage punkrockers from the small town of Dillingen, who only sing in German. Even though the guys have continued to study at their local school, they have found time to squeeze in the recording and writing of 2 albums and 2 national tours. This autumn's tour is sold out completely.
• The band has also contributed to campaigns such as Kein Bock auf Nazis (No Support for Nazis), and Punk Macht Schule, helping to build schools in Ethiopia.
