Lloyd Dobler Effect
is a Silver Spring, Maryland-based five-piece band [1] that plays rock and roll music with Latin rhythms and go go beats. [2] The band is named after John Cusack’s character in the Cameron Crowe film Say Anything.

They have opened for artists such as Eminem, The Goo Goo Dolls, Good Charlotte, The Roots, Audioslave, The Fray, and Jack Johnson. They have performed at over 170 college campuses in the past two years. The band has performed in 39 states in the United States and in 8 countries. They typically play over 250 gigs a year, often playing two per day in the summer. [4] The band has headlined three tours for the Armed Forces Entertainment, including trips to the Middle East and Asia. In November 2007 they won a Boru Vodka-sponsored, Battle of the Bands
, in which they earned $10,000 of equipment.
