Biography
The group was formed in 1997 in
Genoa, borrowing its name from the foes' name in the Italian translation of Daitarn 3 (We Meganoidi are those who / no longer win battles against Daitarn 3 / ...). The group was composed of four elements, voice, guitar, bass and drums, and included a trumpet the next year. In the same year, leaving their first demos, Comics vs. Municipal composed five songs.
Three years later, in addition to training a saxophonist and a percussionist (Francis "Cisco" Roberto), the band made the first album
Into the Darkness, Into the Fashion
. This album reveals influences of ska punk or ska-core and punk rock.
King of ska e Supereroi
, extracted from the single
Into the Darkness, Into the Fashion
, became the theme for the TV program
The hyenas
.
After the G8
In their next album, the band migrates to a more experimental alternative rock. This change in style is associated with a change in mentality, due to events during the G8 in Genoa. Meganoidi I feel now "out of the loop", as the title of the album and the same song Inside the loop.
The lack of funds does not affect the quality of registration. The album is recorded in their new study, the
Green Fog Studio, mixed in
Canada by
Vic Florentia (who had already worked for
Tool and
Danko Jones) and burned the Classic Sound in New York by Joe Lambert. The album comes under the independent label
Green Fog Records, created by the group to support independent music. The CD is 13 euros as a sign of opposition and detachment from ideology of the record companies.
In May 2005,
And Then We Met Impero
, a
progressive rock tones and melancholy Ep, has influences from
Pink Floyd, but was criticized by early fans.
On 28 April 2006, their third album was
Granvanoeli
. The style is similar to 'Ep
And Then We Met Impero
, but songs are slower and five pieces sung in
Italian. Two music videos were realized for the tracks
Dai pozzi
and
Un approdo
.
On 10 April 2009 a new CD,
Al posto del fuoco
, is out.
