Sabrina Starke
(born August 9, 1979, Paramaribo, Suriname) is a Surinam-Dutch singer/songwriter from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her style is a mix of soul, folk, rhythm & blues and jazz.

Career
Her debut album,
Yellow Brick Road
was released on 1 October 1, 2008. It was produced and recorded in
Los Angeles,
California by Dutch producers
Beat Royalty (Chris Kooreman and Edo Plasschaert). The album was mixed in
Burbank, California by three time
Grammy nominee Brad Gilderman.
The first single from the album, "Do For Love" was a hit song in The Netherlands.
"Do for Love" caught the attention of
Billy Mann, (
EMI President of International A&R/Labels and Chief Creative Officer) who stated: "One listen of [Starke]'s "Do For Love" stopped me in my tracks, put Manhattan on pause and the song on repeat. I love her spirit—the voice and the songwriting—and can't wait to see her perform live. EMI has found a real diamond."

On October 27, 2008 she signed to
Blue Note, which will re-release
Yellow Brick Road
. On March 9 the album went gold in
The Netherlands.
