[Saraph]
is an American rock band that formed in Big Rapids, Michigan in 2006. Currently consisting of vocalist Eric Dexter, guitarist Travis Wagner, drummer Josh Marunde, and bassist Steve Wagner, the band has released one studio album. The eight track "Stick to Your Guns" came out in 2007, and a second four track EP, "The Business", is planned for release online in late 2008 and release in print in February 2009. According to band members, they came up with the name based on the college all of them attend/attended, Ferris State. They reversed the spelling to get serrif, then changed it up a little to get Saraph. They have played alongside bands like Pop Evil, Sick Puppies, Theory of a Deadman, and others.
Since forming in the small town of Big Rapids, MI in 2006, Saraph has been a do-it-yourself touring band self propelling their 2007 release “Stick to Your Guns” all across Michigan, and has been working hard to earn respect both state and nation wide. They have performed shows in Grand Rapids at the Delta-Plex and The Intersection, as well as at several other notable venues in West Michigan with numerous national acts including Theory of a Deadman, Framing Hanley, Pop Evil, Evans Blue and Mindless Self Indulgence. Summer of 2008 saw Saraph on a nation-wide tour making new friends and fans and growing as a band. Playing over 100 stellar live shows in the past year they have earned endorsements from Shine Drums, Shine Clothing and Road Ready Cases.
In late 2008 the band recorded the four track EP “The Business” with noted producer Chuck Alkazian (Fuel, Dave Matthews, Pop Evil) and engineered by Alkazian and Spencer Mabey.
“The Business”, released in February 2009 veers between tasteful melodic vocals, song-surging, attention-grabbing guitar riffs, throbbing bass lines and hammering, ground-shaking drum beats, all with a feel and flavor that is both contemporary and timeless. Influenced by diverse artists such as Queens of the Stone Age, Fuel, Motley Crue, Stone Temple Pilots and Black Sabbath, Saraph’s energetic songs are unique and unforgettable.
Multi-instrumentalists, songwriters and long time friends, the members of Saraph – Eric Dexter (vocals), Travis Wagner (guitar/vocals), Steve Wagner (bass) and Josh Marunde (drums), - can always be found at their merchandise tables chatting with fans before and after shows. The band has built a respectable fan base across the country and sold almost 1,000 copies of “Stick to Your Guns” and nearly 1,000 downloads on digital providers such as iTunes, Napster and Verizon Ringtones.

Saraph
(???) , is the Israeli name for the Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopter, in its Israeli Air Force configuration.
It is named after the biblical snake, Saraph
, called "fiery serpent" in popular English translations: "And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole". Numbers Chapter 21
A Seraph
was also a type of "celestial being". The Seraphim, which, like the Cherubim, were used as Chariots of God and his angels. The description in the book of Samuel is surprisingly fitting for the abilities of this modern combat aircraft: “And He rode upon a cherub, and did fly .... At the brightness before Him coals of fire flamed forth .... And He sent out arrows and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.” 2 Samuel Chapter 22
