History
Sparks the Rescue was formed in 1999 as Pozer by Toby McAllister, Ben Briggs and Nate Spencer, while the members were still in high school. Before they were out of high school they had added Marty McMorrow on
synthesizer, Patrick O'Connell on
guitar and
vocals, and Alex Roy as the lead vocalist. With the new members and a new sound, the band decided to go with a new name as well. After the name change the band began spreading out, playing shows across New England, and their popularity began to increase. On February 6, 2007 the band released their first EP,
The Secrets We Can't Keep
, with music they recorded in 2005 with Jonathan Wyman. The band heavily toured their homestate of Maine and the East Coast in support of the EP.
On April 13, 2008 McMorrow posted a blog stating that he would be leaving the band because he didn't feel like it was what he should be doing anymore. He played his last show with the band on April 20, 2008 at The Big Easy in Portland, Maine.
The band released their first album on October 7, 2008 titled
Eyes to the Sun
. The band recently performed three winter shows with
All Time Low,
Hey Monday and
The Friday Night Boys. The band toured with
The Scenic and
The Dangerous Summer on the Get To The Choppa Tour.
It was announced in March 2009 that the band had signed to
Fearless Records,
[1] and will re-release
Eyes to the Sun
featuring new songs and a different track listing on May 5, 2009.

They were also on the Bamboozle Left stage in 2009.
Billboard charts for the 5-15-09 issue reports the
Eyes to the Sun
record coming in at 3rd in the Top Heatseekers Chart for the Northeast, ahead of bands such as Madina Lake and The Airborne Toxic Event.
The songs "Autumn" and "Skeleton" have been played on the band's hometown of
Portland, ME radio station, WCYY. Both songs have been played fairly consistently throughout the day. The song "Hello Mexico" appeared on the first episode of the Real World's Cancun season.
For a majority of the summer of 2009 the band is going to be touring with
Valencia,
Every Avenue,
Cash Cash, and
The Morning Light. Their big break however came at the end of May, when the band's label announced that they would be playing several Europe dates with the
All-American Rejects in June of 2009. They also will be releasing "Eyes to the Sun" in Europe on a TBA label internationally (Fearless would take part).
