LotusLive
is a suite of collaboration software services hosted by the Lotus Software division of IBM. The services provided include hosted online meetings, e-mail, data visualization, and file sharing.
There are several LotusLive offerings:
- LotusLive Connections
provides a set of collaboration tools for setting up a social network, instant messaging, sharing files, managing collaborative tasks called "Activities," visualizing data, and sending out surveys.
- LotusLive Meetings
is a web-based online meeting service. It is a renaming of Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting.
- LotusLive Engage
combines the functionality of LotusLive Connections and LotusLive Meetings. It was code-named "Bluehouse" and was first announced at Lotusphere in January 2008. [1]
- LotusLive Events
adds event management (such as automatic e-mail announcements and event rehearsal) to LotusLive Meetings. It is a renaming of Lotus Sametime Unyte Events.
- LotusLive Notes
is a service where a customer uses its installation of Lotus Notes to access an installation of the Lotus Domino e-mail and calendar server that is hosted and managed by IBM Lotus. It is a renaming of Lotus Notes Hosted Messaging.
- LotusLive iNotes
is a web-based e-mail and calendar service. It will use the messaging assets that IBM is acquiring from Outblaze, a Hong Kong-based online application service provider. [2] [3]
As of January 2009, LotusLive Engage is in beta testing. [4] [5] LotusLive Connections and LotusLive iNotes have been announced but not released. All of the other services are available.
LotusLive also provides mechanisms for third-party applications to integrate with LotusLive. In January 2009, IBM announced integration with Skype, LinkedIn, and Salesforce.com. [6]
The LotusLive brand was first introduced at Lotusphere 2009. [7]
