The Morning After Girls Wiki Information
The Morning After Girls
are an Australian psychedelic rock band. The group originally formed in Melbourne around 2003 by founding members Sacha Lucashenko (vocals/guitar) and Martin B. Sleeman (guitar/vocals) who relocated the group to New York City in 2008. The current lineup now includes EJ Hagen (bass), Anthony Johnson (drums) and Alexander White (keyboards, percussion, backing vox).
The group has released two EPs, the first on Rubber Records in 2003 and the second on Fly Music in early 2005, both of which are self-titled. On September 20, 2005, the band released their two EPs as one CD in North America entitled "The Morning After Girls: Prelude EPs 1 & 2". This album, comprising of the two self-titled EPs, was also released as Shadows Evolve on November 17, 2005 in Australia and June 16, 2005 in the UK. Mid to late 2005 they toured with The Brian Jonestown Massacre. In 2006, they toured with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and The Dandy Warhols. [1]
After taking time to record a new album in Australia and London (mixed by producer Alan Moulder), the band re-emerged in 2009 to play gigs in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Austin, TX, for SXSW. [2]
In May 2009, the band released "The General Public" EP exclusively through iTunes. The band has set a US release date of July 7, 2009 for their full-length album “Alone” (also exclusively through iTunes). The band is scheduled to tour the US in summer 2009 with The Warlocks. [3]
