The Quad City Mallards
are a minor league professional ice hockey team based in Moline, Illinois. They are a member of the International Hockey League; set to hit the ice for the 2009-10 season, and will play their home games at i Wireless Center, home to the original Mallards. Their acceptance into the IHL was officially announced on June 30, 2009. [1] [2] The original Mallards had suspended operations to make way for the Quad City Flames, and the team now returns, as the Flames have moved to Abbotsford, British Columbia. On August 31, the Mallards announced an affiliation agreement with the Philadelphia Flyers. [3]
