Michael Kim
(born January 26, 1964 in Fulton, Missouri), is an update anchor on ESPNEWS flagship program The Hot List
, and also contributes to ESPN's flagship program SportsCenter
.

School
He graduated from
Westminster College in 1987, with a bachelor's in political science and business administration. He also earned a master's in journalism from the
University of Missouri.
He delivered the commencement address at Westminster College in May 2008 when he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree.
Career
Prior to ESPN
From 1991 until joining ESPN in 1996, he worked at
NewsChannel 8 in
Springfield, Virginia. While there in 1993, he was rewarded with an Emmy for sports reporting on a series called "Local Heroes," which was also recognized as the "Best Sports Series" by the
Society of Professional Journalists. He also received an award from the
National Association of Black Journalists for "Best Sports Feature."
ESPN
Kim joined ESPNEWS
November 1,
1996 prior to its premiere and he has been one of the faces of the network. In addition to ESPNEWS he served as an alternate host for the
NHL 2Night
program. He now handles the SportsCenter update duties on
Mike and Mike in the Morning
and
ESPN First Take
. He is the first Asian American national sportscaster to anchor on a daily basis.
