The Red Thread is an indie rock act from Oakland, California. The band was formed circa 2002 as a three-piece that included Jason Lakis (guitars, vocals), Mike Schmiedt (bass), and Dan Martin (drums). Their 2003 debut, After the Last , was well received by critics from several publications, including Allmusic, CMJ , Delusions of Adequacy, and Exclaim! magazine.
