The Florida Panthers started in 1993 as part of the expansion that included the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. In only their third year of operation, the infamous "rat trick" led to them finishing in 3rd place and handily managing to get all the way up to the Stanley Cup Finals. In the last decade, the Panthers have struggled and missed the playoffs every year from 2002 through 2010, but are looking to rebound. They play their home games at the BankAtlantic Center.
