Career
After their formation in late 2007, the band rehearsed above 'The Packhorse' pub in Leeds which was also where they performed their first secret show to a full house of attendees who had been invited by text message on February 13, 2008. After a slot at
Manfest 2008
alongside band friends
That Fucking Tank they soon began to get good press, gig offers and a quickly growing fan base.
They also began to be known for their very frantic live performances in which bandmates have been known to get injured. On May 17, 2008, they headlined
Nastyfest IX
in Leeds to a packed audience of onlookers where a chaotic and injury stricken performance took place involving members of the band being sent to hospital. Their music is a combination of heavy riff based guitar work infused with disco licks and pounding drum rhythms.
They played The Lake Stage at the Latitude festival on 18 July 2008.
They appeared on the BBC introducing stage at Leeds Festival 2008 on Saturday September 23, where they gave an energetic performance, drawing in passers by to create a large crowd.
Debut Release
The band's debut single, 'Meat Balloon', was released via
Big Scary Monsters Recording Company in October 2008. It debuted at #18 on the UK Indie Singles chart. The limited edition 7" single came with a free CD and comic, created by the bands singer, Tom Hudson.
'I Punched A Lion In The Throat' and Onwards
In January 2009 PABH released their single 'I Punched A Lion In The Throat' on 7", with b-side 'The Crapsons'. The song was also made available as a free download on the bands official website.

Download Festival 2009
Pulled Apart By Horses played an energetic set on the Tuborg stage at Download '09 coming onstage at 1.15pm [BST]. While introducing the song 'High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive' guitarist James Brown encouraged the crowd to high five each other, and thanked them when they complied.
Support
On Thursday 6 August 2009, Biffy Clyro announced PABH would be supporting them on their 2009 UK tour, along with the band 'Manchester Orchestra'.
Running Performance Themes
The band are fabled for taking their tops off and most of the time, their pants too.
Tom often likes to vomit during his performances. He blames this on the shear physical exertion. However this is usually down to the smell on stage.
James will often climb on to amps and speaker stacks and jump back down again.
Lee likes to sweat whilst he plays his drums. On a number of occasions he has made obscene phone calls whilst performing, boasting about his manlyness.
Rob plays the bass, more often than not.
